Clear Channel was sure busy in 2007 - busy firing people. Just some of the on-air personalities that were let go (most right before Christmas):
Charlie Tuna (KBIG)
Kim Amidon and Mike Sakellarides (KOST)
Mike Nolan (KOST on air traffic) *note: he was later rehired by KFI and will be working again soon
Marc Germain (KTLK)
Jamie White (STAR 98.7)
You may remember the Jamie White situation. Apparently Bill Handel had his darling children in the building and they went into the STAR studio as the show was on the air. Jamie White had the unmitigated audacity to shoo the children out of the studio as they were live on the air. The two darling children ran back to daddy Handel and all hell broke lose. Handel, if I remember right, received a suspension for his tirade. Jamie lost her job. Of course no one ever admitted that Jamie lost her job because of Handel, but 2 + 2 does = 4.
